Comprehensive Wax Working is a five-day course designed for participants who wish to broaden their understanding of wax as a versatile material for jewellery and small object making. The course introduces a wide range of wax-working methods — from traditional wax carving commonly used in commercial jewellery to more fluid and expressive techniques.

Participants will explore liquid wax, soft wax, wax sheets, and wax wires, and will also be introduced to Mitsuro Hikime, a distinctive technique more often seen in art jewellery. Through this combination of structured technique and open-ended experimentation, each outcome naturally reflects the participant’s own interests, sensibilities, and approach to making.

No prior metalworking, drawing, or design experience is required.

By the end of the course, participants will have created several wax pieces ready for casting. Casting is not included in the course; participants may take their finished wax pieces to any caster of their choice. Recommendations for trusted casters in Bangkok are available upon request.
