Born in 1980 Taipei, Taiwan. Shu-Lin Wu graduated in Applied Art (metalwork) from Fu-Jen Catholic University. She received Diplôme National d’Arts Plastiques and Diplôme National Supérieur d’Expression Plastiques from École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Strasbourg in France in 2005 and 2008.  She is the winner of the design competition “ESPOIRS DE LA CREATION 2008” by le Comité Colbert in France. In 2015, she got selected for ” 2015 Itami International Jewellery Exhibition “ in Japan, and finalist of ” The Second New Taipei City Ceramics Awards 2015 “ in Taiwan. Her works appear regularly in exhibitions in Europe, Asia, Australia, and the North America. They are presented in many permanent collections of international museums and institutes such as Montreal Museum of Fine Arts in Montreal, Cominelli Foundation in Italy, Musée des Arts Décoratifs et de la Mode in Marseille, and Museum of Arts and Design in New York. Shu-Lin Wu has been giving lectures and teaching workshops since 2009. 

In this workshop Shu-Lin Wu will give a lecture on ceramic in contemporary jewellery, explanation and examples on techniques used by modern jewellers, and the ways to connect ceramic elements. Participants will learn the principle of slip casting and mould making. Everyone will create a one-piece or two-piece plaster mold, use the mould to create multiple elements, then turns the multiple elements into wearable pieces. 

Participants without experiences in ceramic and/or jewellery making are welcome!
